1 lb ground beef

1 lb ground pork

1 small sweet onion, finely chopped

2 1/2 cups mashed potatoes

2 tsp allspice

In a large saute pan, cook beef, pork and onion over medium heat until meat is browned and finely crumbled.  Add mashed potatoes and mix well.  Add allspice, poultry seasoning, salt and pepper.  Mix well.  Place 1 pie crust into 9 inch pie plate.  Add meat and potato mixture.  Spread evenly.  Place 2nd pie crust on top of meat and potato mixture.  Crimp edges and make 8 slits in the top crust.  Bake at 375 for 45 minutes.


French Meat Pie

1 1/2 lbs sirloin tips, cut into bite size pieces

2 tsp seasoned salt

2 tsp ground black pepper

2 tsp garlic powder

6 TB flour

4 TB vegetable oil

3 cups beef broth

In a large bowl, mix salt, pepper, garlic and flour.  Add sirloin tips and mix until the sirloin tips are completely coated.  In a 5 quart saucepan, heat oil over medium high heat.  Add sirloin tips for 3 - 4 minutes or until browned.  Reduce heat to medium and add remaining flour, beef broth, merlot, and Worcestershire sauce.  Mix well and cook for 5 minute.  Add potatoes, onions, beans and mushrooms.  Mix well.  Reduce heat to medium low, cover and cook for 2 hours.

3 russet potatoes, cut into bite size pieces
1 large sweet onion, cut into bite size pieces

8 oz fresh green beans, cut into 1" pieces

8 oz sliced mushrooms
